Bazel positioning across Incredibuild blog posts (February–September 2026)

Incredibuild’s February–March 2026 blogs discouraged Bazel migration and asserted a 6–10-engineer team; July–September posts described a complementary role. These are vendor claims, not independent benchmarks.

4 Feb: promoted acceleration instead of Bazel migration. 4 Mar: called migration high-risk and asserted a 6–10-engineer team. 27 Jul: acknowledged Bazel’s explicit graph at scale. 23 Sep: described Incredibuild as complementary to Bazel. All four dated posts are preserved in the archived captures.

IncredibuildScope: One blog collection, February–September 2026; vendor positioning, not a general Bazel staffing requirement.Open source ↗Archived capture ↗Archived capture ↗Archived capture ↗Archived capture ↗

Supported Platforms and Tools

The Linux 4.30 support matrix omits Bazel and documents Build Cache for C/C++ compilation, excluding linking; it does not establish a current Bazel-version support range.

Build Cache does not support use of the above tools for non-compilation tasks (e.g. linking).

IncredibuildScope: General Linux guide only; omission is a documentation gap, not proof of incompatibility or a product-wide cache limit.Open source ↗Archived capture ↗

Exploring the Distribution Types of Tools and Processes

Linux 4.30 documentation says unlisted custom processes stay local. Remote execution requires allow_remote profiles and interception of their ancestor processes, limiting automatic coverage.

If a custom process is not specified in the ib_profile.xml file, it will be handled as local_only.

IncredibuildScope: Documented Linux process coverage and configuration requirements; not a claim that every Bazel action is accelerated.Open source ↗Archived capture ↗

Executing Your Builds Using Incredibuild Linux

The documented Linux execution path requires an ib_console wrapper and available Initiator cores. This process-level integration does not itself establish a Bazel-native remote-execution endpoint.

The guide requires ib_console before the build command; builds will not start unless the Initiator meets its configured minimum local-core availability.

IncredibuildScope: Linux 4.30 execution prerequisites; protocol interoperability is not established by this source.Open source ↗Archived capture ↗
